This line has been sitting for a few days but I finally pulled the trigger. The 88.5 million estimate means the movie will finish between 135 - 140 million if you do a five day total through Sunday. I think Superman will start strong but not 88.5 strong for its first 3 days.

I'm just a hobbyist, not a big gambler. But I manage to make a profit for myself in other sports and thought I'd take a crack at the box office wagers.

This one is an easy winner with Wednesday's $21 million opening. Sportsbook.com was anticipating a low gross by dropping their 3-day o/u to $80 by close.

Variety compared this movie to War of the Worlds and projects $100 million through Sunday. Superman Returns is a more family oriented movie so we'll see how accurate that comparison is.
